Rugged, isolated…Brandlin Vineyard is located on a Mount Veeder ridge line overlooking Napa Valley, In the 1870’s, the Brandlins settled on these steep, rocky slopes becoming grape growing pioneers in the region. In 1926, with over 50 years experience, they staked their claim to the 170-acre ranch. This noble site remains home to many of its original vines and Chester Brandlin himself. Brandlin Vineyard’s sustainable viticultural practices also support plant and wildlife bio-diversity in the vineyard as well as the surrounding 132 acres of native oak trees and other indigenous vegetation. For its inaugural vintage, the 2007 InSpire exhibits a youthful exuberance in both its personality and the style of the wine. Calling out the “spire” in InSpire, the label depicts a rising spire that represents the desire to “reach up” and help others...the company donates 10% of proceeds to a non-profit that benefits the underprivileged in Peru. The red symbol at the top of their spire is an ancient Incan icon that symbolizes the pursuit of knowledge as a means to overcome obstacles. The small, handcrafted production allows the winemaker to pay attention to every detail in the vineyard and winery. The grapes were hand-picked and sorted at the peak of ripeness and aged 20 months in the finest French oak barrels. (More...)

KIND is a very limited production hand-crafted Bordeaux style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot that is arguably one of the top new wines in Napa. With its inaugural vintage in 2005 very well received, the 2006 release has been long anticipated. In the true spirit of care and artisan wine making, David Yorgensen puts his own stamp on an ultra-premium wine that rivals many of the “cult” wines and will be one to watch in the coming years. Now the Krupp family has one of the most prestigious vineyards in the Napa Valley high above Stag’s Leap District on Atlas Peak including the famed Stagecoach Vineyard. Having the keen insight that this area could grow a world-class Tempranillo (Spanish) along with rich Malbec, Dr. Krupp fashioned one of the most unique blends in all of Napa calling it all so appropriately, ‘The Doctor’. This very limited production 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the North Fork vineyard at the base of Howell Mountain. This vineyard sits at an elevation of 1,200 feet. Its rocky soils, and steep, western facing slopes provide optimal growing conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon. The Monticelli Brothers bent the rules here a little and have created a wine with incredible complexity and rich flavor. Inspired by their great-uncle Rolando, the Rosso is made with a Cabernet base enhanced with Syrah and Merlot. Every year, half of the blend is bottled, and the other half becomes the base blend for the next bottling. This technique produces a consistent wine with fruitiness from the young wine and a smooth aged taste from the old. The Rolando Rosso is designed to drink now and pairs with a variety of foods or is delicious on its own. (More...)

Steinhauer Ranch is located 2,000 feet above the Napa Valley on esteemed Howell Mountain. The fruit for this Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a relatively flat section of the vineyard surrounded by Redwoods. As a result, these vineyards experience a very long, even growing season and are often the last picked at Harvest. The juice is fermented on the skins in open top fermentors and punched down three times a day to extract all of the beautiful flavors and tannin in the wine. The wine is then barrel-aged for 18 months in 100% new French oak barrels. All of these techniques combine to increase the depth and complexity of the wine – thus producing a well balanced Cabernet Sauvignon. (More...)
