About the Wine
About
the Wine This very limited
production 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the North
Fork vineyard at the base of Howell Mountain. This vineyard
sits at an elevation of 1,200 feet. Its rocky soils and steep, western facing
slopes provide optimal growing conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon. The fruit from
this vineyard creates a wine that is rich and complex with great depth and structure.
Tasting Panel Notes Tasting Panel Notes This is outright a big delicious red wine that
makes no apologies for its bold style...and we all loved it! No lack of upfront
black fruit and spicy oak here along with great balanced earth notes that Howell
Mountain exhibits so well. We collectively gave this wine “rock star”
status amongst the group with its great structure to go along with the balanced
acidity that will allow this wine to last for years to come. If this were a new
movie, we’d give it 5-stars right out of the gate as a ‘must see’!

Quote: “The
deep black cherry carries through on the nose, mingled with cedar and anise. On
the palate, there are more black fruits and graphite combined with excellent minerality.
The bright natural acidity complements dusty tannins and gives the wine terrific
verve and lift. This wine has a long lingering finish with exotic notes of sandalwood
combined with a great deal of palate weight and structure.”
