Tasting Panel Notes
Tasting Panel Notes To
our astute panel noses, the Carneros terroir was immediately distinct and purposeful,
but the fruit shined through beautifully. For traditionalists who like French
Burgundy Pinots that highlight the land with some added ripe fruit, this is a
superb example of a Burgundian style of wine. Consistent aromas of bright raspberry
and plum come through with strawberry and cherry spice on the palate. A rich Pinot
with great structure and balanced fruit that is high on the ‘quaffing’
scale. | |

Winemaker’s
Quote: “Our
Carneros Estate provides spectacular soils and exposures for making world-class
Pinots in general, and the Block F5, in particular. On thin slopes of clay, yields
are severely restricted on this immaculately farmed block ensuring each berry
reaches optimum maturity. The Block F5 Pinot Noir is rife with wild strawberries,
black cherries, bright raspberries and black plums. Aged for 15 months in Alliers
French Barriques, the opulent wine is beautifully framed by the subtle tones of
oak and vanilla that round out and carry the ripe fruit through to the finish.”
