About the Wine

About the Wine
Every since he can remember from his early childhood days in ‘Jersey’, Dr. Jan Krupp has had a green thumb. Now the Krupp family has one of the most prestigious vineyards in the Napa Valley high above Stag’s Leap District on Atlas Peak including the famed Stagecoach Vineyard. Having the keen insight that this area could grow a world-class Tempranillo (Spanish) along with rich Malbec, Dr. Krupp fashioned one of the most unique blends in all of Napa calling it all so appropriately, ‘The Doctor’. Not be taken lightly, this wine isn’t for the faint at heart (pun intended!). The wine is a sure crowd-pleaser and gem of the party ...not to mention a hit with any of your “Dr.” friends.

Tasting Panel Notes
I do not think I’ve ever seen a panel of experts revisit a glass of wine more times than they did with ‘The Doctor’ with such intrigued looks on their faces. We loved what we were experiencing, we just couldn’t wrap our minds around that fact that what we were tasting was a ‘Super Rioja’ from Napa! Tempranillo, Merlot, Malbec, and Cabernet all in a glass will entice and excite the best of palates; but what a rich, voluptuous wine with big, bold dark fruit character ...The Doctor is definitely in!

Winemaker’s Quote:
“Deep garnet with black rim. A wonderfully complex and intriguing nose with aromas of exotic flowers, sweet & sour cherries, blood orange, dark plums, and spice which play beautifully with the ensuing flavors. The palate is plush and seamless with dense flavors of plum, rhubarb, blackberry, blueberry, and cinnamon. The flavors are persistent and balanced by soft, supportive tannins – a textural and balanced wine.”
                                                 ~ Nigel Kinsman, Winemaker
